Product Name : RejuSpan

Generic Name : Co Enzyme Q10 Capsules

Manufacturer : Verve

Coenzyme Q10 is a vitamin-like substance found throughout the body, but especially in the heart, liver, kidney, and pancreas. It is eaten in small amounts in meats and seafood. Coenzyme Q10 can also be made in a laboratory.

Coenzyme Q10 is most commonly used for conditions that affect the heart such as heart failure, chest pain, and high blood pressure. It is also used for preventing migraine headache, Parkinson's disease, and many other conditions.

Coenzyme Q10 was first identified in 1957. The "Q10" refers to the chemical make-up of the substance.

How does it work?

Coenzyme Q10 is an important vitamin-like substance required for the proper function of many organs and chemical reactions in the body. It helps provide energy to cells. Coenzyme Q10 also seems to have antioxidant activity. People with certain diseases, such as heart failure, high blood pressure, gum disease, Parkinson's disease, certain diseases of the muscles, and HIV infection, might have lower levels of coenzyme Q10.

Uses

Likely Effective for

  • Coenzyme Q10 deficiency. Taking coenzyme Q10 by mouth seems to improve symptoms of coenzyme Q10 deficiency. This is a very rare condition. The symptoms include weakness, fatigue, and seizures.
  • Disorders that limit energy production in the cells of the body (mitochondrial disorders). Taking coenzyme Q10 by mouth seems to reduce symptoms of mitochondrial disorders. However, improvement in symptoms is slow. Some people have to take coenzyme Q10 for 6 months to get the most benefit.

Side Effects & Safety

Coenzyme Q10 is LIKELY SAFE for most adults when taken by mouth or when applied directly to the gums. While most people tolerate coenzyme Q10 well, it can cause some mild side effects including stomach upset, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. It can cause allergic skin rashes in some people. It also might lower blood pressure, so check your blood pressure carefully if you have very low blood pressure. Dividing the total daily dose by taking smaller amounts 2 or 3 times a day instead of a large amount all at once can help reduce side effects.

Coenzyme Q10 is POSSIBLY SAFE for children when taken by mouth. However, coenzyme Q-10 should not be used in children without medical supervision.

Special Precautions & Warnings:

Pregnancy and breast-feeding: Coenzyme Q10 is POSSIBLY SAFE when taken by mouth appropriately during pregnancy. Coenzyme Q10 has been used safely when taken twice daily starting at 20 weeks until delivery. Not enough is known about the use of coenzyme Q10 during breast-feeding. Stay on the safe side and avoid use.

Chemotherapy: People undergoing chemotherapy with a class of drugs called alkylating agents should use coenzyme Q10 with caution. There is some concern that coenzyme Q10 might lower the effectiveness of these drugs. Some alkylating agents include busulfan, carboplatin, cisplatin, cyclophosphamide (Cytoxan), dacarbazine, thiotepa, and many others.

High blood pressure or low blood pressure: Coenzyme Q10 might lower blood pressure. It can increase the effects of medications used to lower blood pressure. Discuss your use of coenzyme Q10 with your healthcare provider if you have blood pressure problems.

Manufacturer : Biochem Pharmaceutical Industries

Tamodex (Tamoxifen Citrate tablets) - Product Information

Tamodex (Tamoxifen Citrate tablets) are used to treat early breast cancer in women who have already been treated with surgery, radiation, and/or chemotherapy. This medicine is used to reduce the risk of developing a more serious type of breast cancer in women who have had ductal carcinoma in situ.

Tamodex is a selective estrogen-receptor modulator (SERM) that works both by reducing factors that increase the growth of breast cells and increasing factors that decrease the growth of breast cells. Tamodex is also used to reduce the risk of breast cancer in women who are at high risk for the disease due to their age, personal medical history, and family medical history.

Tamoxifen Citrate, the active ingredient present in Tamodex blocks the actions of oestrogen. Oestrogen is a natural female sex hormone. In certain types of breast cancer, oestrogen can help cancer cells to grow.

Uses of Tamodex Tablets

Tamoxifen is used to lower the chance of getting breast cancer in women with a higher than normal chance of getting breast cancer (high-risk women) and to lower the chance of getting invasive (spreading) breast cancer in women who had surgery and radiation for ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS).

Generic Tamoxifen Citrate (Tamodex by Biochem) is used in women after they have finished early treatment. Early treatment can include surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy. It may keep the cancer from spreading to others parts of the body. It may also reduce the woman’s chance of getting a new breast cancer.

How to Use Tamodex Tablets

Swallow the tablets whole, with water or another non-alcoholic liquid. You can take Generic Tamoxifen Citrate with or without food at the same time each day.

If you miss a dose, take it when you remember, then take the next dose as usual. If it is almost time for your next dose or you remember at your next dose, do not take extra tablets to make up the missed dose. Take Generic Nolvadex like Tamodex by Biochem (Tamoxifen 10 mg or 20 mg ) for at least 5 years post treatment, unless your doctor tells you otherwise.

Auxisoda
, also known as baking soda, is used to relieve heartburn, sour stomach, or acid indigestion by neutralizing excess stomach acid. When used for this purpose, it is said to belong to the group of medicines called antacids. It may be used to treat the symptoms of stomach or duodenal ulcers. Auxisoda is also used to make the blood and urine more alkaline in certain conditions.

Antacids should not be given to young children (up to 6 years of age) unless prescribed by their doctor. Since children cannot usually describe their symptoms very well, a doctor should check the child before giving Auxisoda. The child may have a condition that needs other treatment. § Auxisoda is usually administered as an injection at your doctor's office, hospital, or clinic. If you are using Auxisoda at home, carefully follow the injection procedures taught to you by your health care provider.

§ If Auxisoda contains particles or is discolored, or if the vial is cracked or damaged in any way, do not use it.

§ Keep this product, as well as syringes and needles, out of the reach of children and away from pets. Do not reuse needles, syringes, or other materials. Dispose of properly after use. Ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain local regulations for proper disposal.

USES OF AUXISODA IN DETAILS

Auxisoda is an alkali used to relieve heartburn and indigestion caused due to hyperacidity (excessive stomach acid secretion) and to replenish bicarbonate ions in the body (in metabolic acidosis). It is also used in cases of excessive muscle spasms and in revival of unconscious patients (cardio-pulmonary resuscitation).

AUXISODA SIDE EFFECTS

Applies to Auxisoda: capsule, granule, powder, solution, tablet

Generic Name : Mecobalamin Alpha Lipoic Acid

Manufacturer : Alniche

Overview Information

Alpha-lipoic acid is a vitamin-like chemical called an antioxidant. Yeast, liver, kidney, spinach, broccoli, and potatoes are good sources of alpha-lipoic acid. It is also made in the laboratory for use as medicine.

Alpha-lipoic acid is most commonly taken by mouth for diabetes and nerve-related symptoms of diabetes including burning, pain, and numbness in the legs and arms. It is also given as an injection into the vein (by IV) for these same uses. High doses of alpha-lipoic acid are approved in Germany for the treatment of these nerve-related symptoms.

How does it work?

Alpha-lipoic acid seems to help prevent certain kinds of cell damage in the body, and also restores vitamin levels such as vitamin E and vitamin C. There is also evidence that alpha-lipoic acid can improve the function and conduction of neurons in diabetes.

Alpha-lipoic acid is used in the body to break down carbohydrates and to make energy for the other organs in the body.

Uses & Effectiveness Possibly Effective for

  • Aging skin. Early research suggests that applying cream containing 5% alpha-lipoic acid might reduce fine lines and skin roughness caused by sun damage. Also, taking a specific product containing alpha-lipoic acid and other ingredients seems to improve elasticity and reduce wrinkles and roughness of aging skin.
  • Coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery. Research suggests that taking a product containing alpha-lipoic acid, coenzyme Q10, magnesium, omega-3 fatty acids, and selenium up to 2 months before and 1 month after surgery seems to decrease complications following CABG surgery.

Side Effects & Safety

Alpha-lipoic acid is POSSIBLY SAFE for most adults when taken by mouth for up to 4 years, when used intravenously for up to 3 weeks, or when applied to the skin as a cream for up to 12 weeks. People taking alpha-lipoic acid by mouth might get a rash. People at risk for thiamine deficiency should take a thiamine supplement.

Product Name : Folvite Tablets

Generic Name : Folic Acid Tablets

Manufacturer : Pfizer Limited

Uses

Folic acid is the man-made form of folate. Folate is a B-vitamin naturally found in some foods. It is needed to form healthy cells, especially red blood cells.

Folic acid supplements may come in different forms (such as L-methylfolate, levomefolate, methyltetrahydrofolate). They are used to treat or prevent low folate levels. Low folate levels can lead to certain types of anemia. Conditions that can cause low folate levels include poor diet, pregnancy, alcoholism, liver disease, certain stomach/intestinal problems, kidney dialysis, among others. Women of childbearing age should receive adequate amounts of folic acid either through their diet or supplements to prevent infant spinal cord birth defects.

How to use Folvite Tablet

Take this product by mouth with or without food as directed by your doctor, usually once daily. If you are taking the over-the-counter product, follow all directions on the product package. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment. Do not increase your dose or take this product more often than directed.

Take this product regularly to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember, take it at the same time each day. Follow the diet plan recommended by your doctor or dietician. See also Notes section.

Folic acid usually has very few side effects. If you have any unusual effects from taking this product, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.

If your doctor has directed you to use this product, remember that he or she has judged that the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects. Many people using this product do not have serious side effects.

A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. However, get medical help right away if you notice any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including: rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), dizziness, trouble breathing.

This is not a complete list of possible side effects. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Precautions

Before taking this product, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.

L-alanyl-L-glutamine also known as alanylglutamine, is a dipeptide molecule, consisting of L-glutamine and L-alanine, two amino acids. L-alanyl-L-glutamine is sometimes supplemented for prolonged physical exercise as it can enhance electrolyte absorption and improve endurance and performance. Tests on rodents suggest L-alanyl-L-glutamine is more successful at increasing muscular glutamine levels after supplementation than glutamine itself. This is because glutamine is absorbed better via the liver and intestines after supplementation. Since L-alanyl-L-glutamine is a dipeptide molecule it means that it contains more than one amino acid for the intestines to absorb, allowing glutamine to reach the muscles.

Adding L-alanyl-L-glutamine to any rehydration solution will be significantly more effective at increasing water and electrolyte absorption than consuming either a glutamine or glucose-containing solution. Current studies on L-alanyl-L-glutamine use a dose of 1-3g a day. Overdosage of L-alanyl-L-glutamine may result in chills, nausea and vomiting. Precautions need to be taken with patients who suffer from severe hepatic impairment, severe metabolic acidosis as it may contradict the medication. There are no reported side effects of the drug. Following the prescribed dosage of approximately 231 and 266 mg of L-alanyl-L-glutamine per pound of bodyweight per day for men and women.

Under these conditions, L-glutamine becomes an essential amino acid and must be supplied to the body in order to prevent breakdown of muscle tissue, immune dysfunction and compromise of the gut mucosal barrier function with consequent bacterial translocation into the body. L-glutamine is arguably the most needed amino acid and, indeed, one of the most needed nutrients under these circumstances.

Until recently, L-glutamine was lacking from TPN. The reason for this is because L-glutamine is not very soluble in water 1 g dissolves in 20.8 mL of water at 30°C and L-glutamine is unstable in solution. The problem has been solved by the synthesis of glutamine containing dipeptides, which are very soluble in water and stable in solution.

Two (2) synthetic glutamine-containing dipeptides that may be used in TPN are L-alanyl-L-glutamine (Ala-Gln) and glycyl-L-glutamine (Gly-Gln). The molecular weight of Ala-Gln is 217.24 daltons and L-glutamine comprises 67% of the dipeptide. L-glutamine comprises 72% of Gly-Gln and its molecular weight is 203.22 daltons.

USES OF L-ALANYL-L-GLUTAMINE IN DETAILS

L-alanyl-L-glutamine is used as nutritional supplement to rebuild muscle tissue, improve intestinal health and immune system.   L-

ALANYL-L-GLUTAMINE DOSAGE

As part of an IV parenteral nutrition regimen

Adult: As solution containing L-alanyl-Lglutamine 200 mg in each ml. Usual dose: 0.3-0.4 g/kg/day. Dose depends on severity of the catabolic state and amino acid requirement; not to exceed 2 g amino acids/kg/day in parenteral nutrition; amount of amino acids supplied through L-alanyl-L-glutamine should not exceed 20% of the total supply. To be mixed with a compatible amino acid carrier solution or an amino acid containing infusion regimen before admin. Max treatment duration: 3 wk.

L-ALANYL-L-GLUTAMINE SIDE EFFECTS

There are rare reports of constipation and bloating with high-dose glutamine peptides in TPN.
