As a prestigious organization, we have attained recognition in the market as a provider of standard qualityDuovir-N Tablets. This medicine is not prescribed for complete curing of AIDS or HIV, but to retard proliferation of HIV affected cells. These tablets are also prescribed for other reasons that are not included in the provided in this medical handout.
Duovir-N is a fixed dose combination treatment for Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection in adults. Duovir-N tablets are used to treat HIV patients who have already been treated with other HIV medications and have responded well to each of the drugs in the combination; and are also able to tolerate each of these medications, at the recommended doses without requiring a dose adjustment due to low weight. HIV impairs the immune system by attacking specific immune cells called CD4+ cells that are involved in fighting infection, and this can lead to opportunistic life-threatening infection (infections that would not normally be harmful); also if too many CD4+ cells are destroyed this can result in acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS). Duovir-N tablets prevent or slow down the ability of HIV to replicate and spread, which keeps the amount of virus (viral load) down to a low level; allowing the numbers of CD4+ cells to increase, so that the immune system can recover, reducing the risk of disease progression. Triple drug therapy with Duovir-N makes it easier to take the medications regularly, which helps improve compliance and helps prevent resistance of HIV to individual drugs.
How does Duovir-N work
Duovir-N tablets contain a combination of three antiretroviral drugs; nevirapine, zidovudine and lamivudine, which are effective only against RNA viruses (retroviruses) like Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). These three drugs each work by inhibiting the action of the viral-specific enzyme reverse transcriptase (RT) which is needed for the virus to be able to replicate. Retroviruses convert RNA to DNA, which is then integrated into the DNA of infected immune cells so that the virus can replicate. Nevirapine in Duovir-N tablets is a non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI); nucleosides are the precursors to the building blocks of DNA and RNA. Nevirapine in Duovir-N tablets acts by binding to a specific site on the RT enzyme, the enzyme's active site known as the NNRTI pocket, disrupting the catalytic site of the enzyme, and blocking its action in a manner that is noncompetitive with nucleosides. Zidovudine and lamivudine are both nucleoside analogue reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTI), which means that they block the action of RT by competing with one of the nucleosides needed to transcribe the viral RNA into DNA, becoming incorporated into the chain of newly synthesized viral DNA and preventing it from growing (chain termination). Zidovudine is an analogue of thymidine and lamivudine is an analogue of cytidine. The combined action of the three antiiretroviral drugs in Duovir-N tablets prevents the integration of the virus into the DNA of the infected CD4+ immune cell by 2 different mechanisms, which inhibits the replication of HIV so that no more virus can be produced, and this reduces the viral load (amount of virus). Duovir-N slows down the replication of HIV within your body but does not kill the virus already incorporated in the CD4+ cells or prevent the spread of the infection to others.

Product Name Cabita 500 mg Tablets
Generic Name Capecitabine Tablets IP 500 mg
Manufacturer Getwell Pharmaceuticals Ltd
Capegard tablets 500mg are used as oral chemotherapy to treat various cancers. Capegard 500 is used as single agent for adjuvant treatment following surgery to remove the primary tumour for Dukes' stage C colon cancer, which is an advanced form of bowel cancer that has metastasised to local lymph nodes; also a first line monotherapy for metastatic colorectal cancer (cancer of the bowel and rectum). Capegard 500 is also used for first-line treatment of advanced gastric cancer in combination with a platinum-based regimen of chemotherapy. Capegard 500 is also used for metastatic breast cancer in combination with docetaxel (another chemotherapy medication) after treatment with anthracycline-containing chemotherapy has failed; also as monotherapy for metastatic breast cancer in patients who are resistant to other forms of chemotherapy or where they are not appropriate. Capegard tablets 500mg can be used as monotherapy or in combination with other cytotoxic cancer medications.
How does Capegard work
Capegard tablets 500mg contain capecitabine, an oral chemotherapeutic drug belonging to the fluoropyrimidine group of drugs that is used to treat a variety of cancers. Capecitabine itself is not toxic but is a precursor of 5-fluorouracil (5-FU), a cytotoxic metabolite that is activated by specific enzymes that exist in normal cells but in higher levels in cancer cells, thereby producing more 5-FU at the tumour site than in normal cells. Capecitabine in Capegard 500 is an antimetabolite, which means that once metabolised, 5-FU is incorporated into newly synthesised nuclear material and causes metabolic errors that interfere with normal processing of DNA and RNA. Also 5-FU binds to an important enzyme in the formation of an essential component of DNA, which inhibits the synthesis of DNA. Both mechanisms contribute to the cytotoxic action of Capegard 500 that causes inhibition of cell growth and ultimately cell death of the cancer cells. Since capecitabine in Capegard 500 is a tumour-activated and tumour-selective cytotoxic drug it targets rapidly growing tumour cells and has reduced effect on normal cells.
What does Capegard contain
Capegard tablets contain the active ingredient contain capecitabine (500mg), a cytotoxic drug anti-neoplastic agent used to treat a variety of cancers.
Treating cancers with Capegard
Capegard tablets 500mg contain capecitabine, an oral chemotherapeutic drug that is used to treat a variety of advanced cancers. These include locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer if other treatments have failed; Dukes' stage C colon cancer, which is an advanced cancer that has been categorised following surgery as having metastasised to local lymph nodes; first line treatment for metastatic colorectal cancer (cancer of the bowel and rectum); first line treatment for gastric cancer (cancer of the stomach). Once swallowed, capecitabine in Capegard 500 is converted by an enzyme that exists in higher concentrations in tumour cells, to a cytotoxic metabolite that interferes with processing of nuclear material. This causes inhibition of cell growth and ultimately cell death of the cancer cells. Since capecitabine in Capegard 500 is a tumour-activated and rapid growing tumour cell-selective cytotoxic drug it targets tumour cells and has reduced effect on normal cells. Tamodex (Tamoxifen Citrate tablets) are used to treat early breast cancer in women who have already been treated with surgery, radiation, and/or chemotherapy. This medicine is used to reduce the risk of developing a more serious type of breast cancer in women who have had ductal carcinoma in situ.
Tamodex is a selective estrogen-receptor modulator (SERM) that works both by reducing factors that increase the growth of breast cells and increasing factors that decrease the growth of breast cells. Tamodex is also used to reduce the risk of breast cancer in women who are at high risk for the disease due to their age, personal medical history, and family medical history.
Uses of Tamodex Tablets
Tamoxifen is used to lower the chance of getting breast cancer in women with a higher than normal chance of getting breast cancer (high-risk women) and to lower the chance of getting invasive (spreading) breast cancer in women who had surgery and radiation for ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS).
Generic Tamoxifen Citrate (Tamodex by Biochem) is used in women after they have finished early treatment. Early treatment can include surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy. It may keep the cancer from spreading to others parts of the body. It may also reduce the woman’s chance of getting a new breast cancer.
Generic Nolvadex (Tamoxifen) works by blocking the growth of breast cancers that needs estrogen to grow (cancers that are estrogen- or progesterone-receptor positive).
